Yggdrasil

At the center of all worlds stood Yggdrasil, the cosmic tree whose roots reached into the realms of gods, humans, and the dead, while its branches held the heavens above.

Beneath its roots lay Mímir’s Well, the source of wisdom. The gods dwelled near its trunk, while serpents and the dragon Níðhöggr lurked below, gnawing at its roots.

An eagle watched from the highest branches, while the squirrel Ratatoskr endlessly raced between the eagle and Níðhöggr, carrying insults and hatred between them.

Yggdrasil bound together the Nine Worlds.

And when Ragnarök came, when the old gods and the old world fell, the great tree would endure.

From its roots, a new world would rise.
