The House That Grew

At the edge of an ancient oak forest stood a remarkable tree, its thick trunk rising naturally from the living landscape. Around its trunk and within its immense form, an unusual dwelling seemed to have grown over time, shaped from wood, roots, and the living structure of the tree itself. It was difficult to tell where the tree ended and the dwelling began. Nothing about it felt constructed in the ordinary sense; it seemed to have emerged slowly from nature, as though the tree itself had grown a place for someone to live. Surrounded by green vegetation, stone, and the quiet presence of the old forest, it felt less like a house and more like a living part of the earth.
